Music Messages

Music is a universal language, it links different cultures and it allows each of you to understand and relate to others, express yourself and develop emotionally.

The Woodside Choir will soon begin rehearsing for Christmas events, including a concert in aid of Scannappeal and our annual performance at the Amersham Town Christmas Showcase.
Rocksteady lessons have restarted for the new term, and the bands are learning new material.  We look forward to Dan presenting their contemporary music later in the term.
In-Concert - Chilterns and South Bucks 2018
Kings Church, Amersham
Woodside's choir and musicians will, once again, be invited to take part in this event.
Last year's concert was a huge success and was enjoyed by all.
In Spring 2018 we will have further details. The school choir and children who have instrument lessons with Bucks Learning Trust tutors will be invited to take part. This will include guitars, strings and woodwind pupils.  Tutors will speak to pupils nearer the time.
If you are interested in learning to play an instrument or would like to join the choir, please speak to Miss Richer (Year 4) or Mrs Bowers (Year 5).

PTA Funded Keyboards

Thanks to generous funding from the PTA, I am delighted to announce that we have been able to purchase 12 new keyboards to enhance pupils’ musical learning at Woodside.

On behalf of all the staff and pupils at Woodside, I would like to say a huge thank you to all parents, and to supporters of the PTA.

This addition to our resources means that the children will have the opportunity to use the keyboards for whole class music with a specialist teacher in year 6, and other year groups will also benefit from experiencing a greater variety of instruments.

We hope to continue adding to our resources to improve musical provision at Woodside.

Echoes 7 at the Royal Albert Hall, March 2017.
This was a truly memorable experience. What an exhausting, but rewarding day we had!
The choir worked so hard to get ready for Echoes, and it all paid off when we took part in the event that brought together 52 schools singing in harmony.
