Welcome from the Head Teacher

Dear Parents and Carers

We wish you a warm welcome to Woodside Junior School.  Our school is a happy, caring and positive learning environment, within which all children feel safe, confident and able to achieve their full social and academic potential.  Woodside School has an enthusiastic and dedicated team of people, striving to provide the very best education for your children. We aim to provide a rich and relevant curriculum, underpinned by the National Curriculum.  At Woodside we make all learning experiences enjoyable, meaningful and challenging, providing an excellent foundation for life in today’s fast changing world.  Our most important task is to ensure that the children in our care develop into responsible, tolerant and confident individuals.

At Woodside we firmly believe your child’s education is a partnership between home, school and pupil and we encourage you to be fully involved with your child’s learning. We hope that you will actively participate in the life of the school, for example by helping in the classroom or supporting the Woodside PTA. Once your child is part of Woodside School, you will be invited to regular parents’ consultation meetings.  In addition, my staff and I are always available to discuss any aspect of your child’s education and welfare.

We hope that you find this website useful in giving a flavour of our school. We look forward to working with you and hope you will feel part of our community. We are proud of Woodside Junior School and will be delighted to show you around.  To arrange a visit, please contact our school secretary who will arrange an appointment.
